Ishana Ghimire

Ishana is originally from Nepal and has been living in Victoria since 2019. She is currently a high school student at Oak Bay High. With 4 years of experience swimming with Pacific Coast Swimming, Ishana has developed a strong connection to the sport. Over the past year, she has also gained valuable experience by volunteering as a coach, where she discovered her passion for mentoring young swimmers. Ishana is enthusiastic about continuing her coaching journey and is excited to meet and work with new swimmers, helping them develop their skills and love for the sport.

Erica Smith

Erica Smith grew up in North Vancouver, BC, and recently graduated with a BScH Psychology degree from Queen's University. She is currently studying at the University of Victoria to become a qualified elementary school teacher. Erica swam competitively with the CHENA Swim Club from ages 8 to 16, and sport remains a significant part of her life as she now competes for UVic's cross-country and track team. As an NCCP Level 1 certified coach, she has coached Chena's pre-competitive team for two years and is excited to continue inspiring the next generation with PCS.

Alexx Greenfield

Alexx Greenfield is thrilled to be back for a second season with PCS, bringing over 10 years of personal experience as a competitive swimmer to the pool deck. An NCCP Level 1 coach, Alexx is entering her eighth season of coaching. She has coached a wide range of swimmers, from the youngest learn-to-swim participants to masters athletes, though she has spent the most time working with athletes aged 10-15. Alexx is grateful to be working alongside such experienced coaches and is inspired by the incredible coaches she had throughout her swimming career.

Malin Torrance

Malin Torrance is from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and is currently in her third year of studies at the University of Victoria, pursuing a degree in Sociology and Psychology. This is her second year with Pacific Coast Swimming, bringing with her a total of 13 years of experience in swimming and coaching. Malin was a competitive swimmer with the Manta Swim Club for 9 years before transitioning into coaching in 2020. She will be coaching the Lightning Fast program levels 1 through 5 at various pools across Victoria.

Anika Blane

Coach Anika is excited for her 3rd year of coaching for Pacific Coast Swimming. Before moving to Victoria to attend UVIC, Anika swam competitively on the mainland for over 10 years. She is happy to bring her athlete and 8 years of coaching experience to the Provincial 1 group. Anika is an NCCP Level 1 certified coach and studies psychology at UVic. She draws knowledge and inspiration from her degree and working alongside our senior coaches.

Sophie Wood

Sophie is an NCCP Level 1 certified coach who has taught swimmers of various ages and abilities. Sophie has always been passionate about sports. She started out as a competitive diver and then went into triathlon and as a result of the extra training became a competitive swimmer. She began coaching swimming and diving in 2017. She coaches Lighting Fast 1-2 at Crystal Pool and is the active sub for the para group. She graduated high school in 2021 at Victor-Brodeur and is now pursuing her studies in nursing at Camosun & the University of Victoria.
