Provincial Championships Day Two Summary

The second evening of the 2013 Provincial SC Swimming Championships began explosively for UVPCS in the 200IM

In the 13 year old girls Jordan Andrusak and Lauren Crisp powered away from the field to a 1-2 finish. Jordan finished with the gold in 2:21 while Lauren Crisp smashed her best concluding in 2:24.

15 Year old Girls Final featured Vicky Mock hammering home in 2:22 - just out of the medals but with a PB of over 3 seconds.

Moments later Rosie Moulton accelerated home staying in the medals and making her Senior National qualifying time at 2:17.

On the men’s side, Ryan Howe stayed in the game but finished 8th in 2:08 while Evan Letkeman (2:09) and Jon Mckay (2:06) managed PB’s in the consolation final.

50 Free saw little action for UVPCS - only Patricia Horwood represented the club in the 13 year girls final where she was 7th in 28.80.

In 100 Backstroke Lauren Crisp lead out the scoring striking gold in a meet record time of 1:04 winning the 13 Year old girls. Teammate Molly Gowans was 5th after slipping on the start in 1:08

Rachel Sawchuk swam to 6th for the 14 year old girls in 1:10

Ryan Howe rounded out the backstroke scoring with 4th in 16 and O boys, 57.8

In 200 Freestyle, Jordan Andrusak and Molly Gowans were back in action. Andrusak settled for silver being nudged out in the final meters with a PB of 2:07. Molly was never out of the fight concluding in 2:08 for fourth.

Rachel Sawchuk kept the club point score tallying up with an eight in 14 year old Girls

Vicky Mock kept the pressure on all the way to the end carving 2 seconds off her best to earn Silver in 15 year girls.

Rosie Moulton finished just out of the bling at fourth in a PB of 2:05

Evan Letkeman (1:53) and Jon McKay (1:54) raced to PB’s for 5th and 6th in 16 and O boys.

In 200 Medley Relay...

PCS 11-12 Girls managed to dig out an eight place finish (Pasemko, Tarrant, Luo and McKenna)

13-14 girls bobbled a takeover and were disqualified

15 and O Girls were out of the scoring in 9th. While the boys moved up to take 4th in 1:48 (Howe, Zollen, Gresdal, Letkeman)
