VIR Champs Day One PCS leads. 6 records Fall

Pacific Coast Swimming leads the point score 2300+ to 900+ for the next team. 

New Provincial(Club and VIR) Record for 11-12 Girls in the 4x50 Medley Relay. Congratulations to Hana Edwards, Laura Rincon, Sophie Lorette and Jessica Luo 207.06. And to their coaches Ian Mattock and Cody Flegel.

The 11-12 Boys (Kormendy, Schmidt, Ogilvie and Guitierrez) lopped a second off the club record in 2:12.28

Swim BC Junior Camp

Congratulations to our PCS swimmers who are representing Swim BC at the Junior cmap this weekend at the Senior Circuit #2 at UBC.

Lauren Crisp, Eden Kormendy, Jessica Luo and Molly Gowans will be at UBC for Friday through Sun at the junior Camp and the Senior Circuit competition.

Sunday Stroke Series on January 11, 2015

Tomorrow (January 11, 2015) there will be a Sunday Stroke Series training camp from 8:00-11:00am at UVic. McKinnon Pool.  The focus of the camp with be on Backstroke.

The camp will cost $25 for PCS club members and $30 for non-members.

14 year old Eden Kormendy came to life and brought it hard in the 14-15 final moving from fourth in the morning to take gold in the evening in 2:43.

50m Freestyle
Rachel Sawchuk
was just out of the medals in fourth at 27.6

Richmond Swimfast 2014

Richmond Swimfast Finals Saturday, Dec 13

400IM 1-2-3-4 Finish for 14-15 Girls, Molly Gowans lead the way with 4:59.48, second Lauren Crisp 5:04.2, third, Eden Kormendy 5:06.1 and Allison Ballantyne, fourth, 5:14.82. It was the first time under 5:00 for Gowans and big drops in time for Kormendy and Ballantyne.

It was an exciting first night at the Watermania pool in Richmond, BC for the PCS contingent.

200IM 14-15 girls: Lauren Crisp took top spot, while teammates Allison Ballantyne shopped 3 seconds off her best to finish 3rd and Eden Kormendy also improved her time for fourth place.

Rachel Sawchuk mowed down her previous best in 2:31 taking 2nd in the B final for 15 and Older girls.

After three days of competition Santa and the Grinch packed up for another year. It was one of the biggest and best yet. At 750 athletes and three pools the 12th PCS Xmas Cracker created a lot of cheer…and fast swimming.

Cracker 2014 Gets Under Way in Style

The 12th Annual PCS Xmas Cracker got under way this morning over 700 athlete traded challenges in the tirple ended affair to great success.

Teams from BC Alberta and the North-West US will compete all weekend. Meet records fell and competition was strong.

Tis the night before Cracker,
And all through the pool,
Decorations are hanging,
It's looking real cool!

Swimmer's are tucked,
all snug in their beds,
While visions of PB's,
Dance in their heads!

The officials are checking,
All of the gear.
You know there is time,
to still volunteer!

So come to the Place,
That is Saanich's Common Wealth,
And race PCS's Xmas Cracker,
Yes, it's our twelfth!
