Aimeson King Turns Out Three Strong Races in South America

UVPCS swimmer Aimeson King had a busy past week, competing in 3 events in South America. 

In the first 10km, which took place on January 26th in Santos, Brazil, Aimeson had what Coach Ron Jacks described as the race of his life.  King finished in 16th spot, beating out five Olympians, and was only 27 seconds behind the winner.

King then competed in a sprint event in Viedma just before the World Cup, and had another strong race, coming in 7th.

VICTORIA, B.C. - After day two of the 2013 Canada West Swimming Championships hosted by the University of Victoria Vikes, both men's and women's teams sit in fourth place with the Vikes men tallying 475.5 points and the UVic women earning 224. Several Vikes pulled CIS qualifying times and will be competing in the CIS Swimming Championships in Calgary, Feb. 21-23.

Vikes Men in Second Place at the End of Day One

VICTORIA, B.C. - At the end of day one of the 2013 Canada West Swimming Championships, hosted by the University of Victoria Vikes, the UVic men are sitting in second place with a points score of 172 after a stellar 1500-m freestyle performance by Alec Page (Cortes Island, BC), Eric Hedlin (San Diego, CA) and Will Brothers (Victoria, BC) as they earned first, second and third place.

Three PCS Swimmers Selected for National Open Water Teams

Swimming Canada announced today  the 2012-2013 National Open Water Team and has named Olympic bronze medalist, Richard Weinberger, as one of the team members.  Joining him is PCS teammate Aimeson King.

Also announced was the Junior Selects team, which included Zac Parkes.

Congratulations to both Richard, Aimeson and Zac, and their coach Ron Jacks.

2012 Xmas Cracker Is A Wrap!

Well Xmas Cracker is over for another year and it was a great weekend of swimming.  Many personal bests and meet records were set.  The detailed meet results have already been posted on the PCS Results page and the new club records have been posted as well.

Congratulations to all the swimmers and coaches!

Cracker is a huge meet and an event of this size is only possible through the efforts of our many volunteers.
