VIR's Day 2 Recap

Day two of the Vancouver Island Regional Championships was another strong showing for Pacific Coast Swimming.   The Bolts saw over one-hundred final appearances, and fifty-six individual podium finishes.

VIR's Day 1 Recap

Pacific Coast Swimming had an impressive first day at the Vancouver Island Regional Championships with ninety-four individual finals swims.  In total the Bolts have ninety-two athletes competing at the three-day meet being held at Saanich Commonwealth Place.  The meet marks the first weekend of championship racing for the squad, as they gear up for the summer ahead with racing at AA Provincials, AAA Provincials, Canadian Age Group Championships, and Senior National Championships on the horizon.

Tucson Southwest Classic Meet Recap

A crew of four Pacific Coast Swimming athletes' ventured down to Tucson, Arizona, to race at the Tucson Ford Dealers Aquatic Club Southwest Classic Swim Meet this past weekend.  The meet featured teams from across the United States and Canada competing at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center, the home of the University of Arizona Wildcats Swim Team.   With up to seventy athletes in each event, the meet featured A, B, and C finals for the top twenty four swimmers based off of preliminary results in each event.

Hyack Invitational Day 3 Recap

The final session of the Hyack Invitational saw twenty-six top eight results by the Bolts that included nine podium finishes.  The New Westminster meet was one of the final tune-ups prior to Pacific Coast athletes’ entering long course championship season with the summer quickly approaching.

Hyack Invitational Day 2 Recap

Pacific Coast Swimming continued their roll on day two of the Hyack Invitational. The Bolts captured a number of relay medals, and Anthony Guitierrez eclipsed the 1:00 minute mark in the Boys 12-13 100 Freestyle for the first time to lead the charge for the squad from Victoria.

Hyack Invitational Day 1 Recap

Day one of the Hyack Invitational was highlighted by a number of podium finishes for the Bolts, as well as 13 year old Michael Schmidt setting a new club and meet record in the 200 breaststroke with his time of 2:30.38.  The swim was a best time for Schmidt by close to four seconds, on his way to claiming first in the boys 12-13 category.
