Pacific Coast Swimming successfully defended their title as the top swim club in British Columbia on Sunday night, with the last day of racing came to a close at the AAA Long Course Provincial Championships.   The Bolts finished strong, building on the lead they had put together over the first four days of competition, to finish more than three hundred points ahead of the next second place Hyack Swimming.  The title now brings the Bolts’ streak to five AAA championships in a row.

Pacific Coast Swimming had another big night of racing at the Swim BC AAA Long Course Provincial Championships, having thirty-six individual final swims plus four relays finish in the top eight.  “The number of swims we had tonight shows our club depth and strength as a team,” said Rod Barratt, Director of Athlete Development.  “There was great pride and support across all age groups throughout the third night of racing.” 

Pacific Coast Swimming began their provincial title defense Wednesday, as the first day of the Swim BC AAA Championships got underway at Saanich Commonwealth Place.  The Bolts are looking for a provincial championship five-peat this weekend on home soil, as they have won the past four AAA championships.  After day one of competition, Pacific Coast Swimming finds themself in a familiar position, sitting in first place with a lead of 150 points over Hyack Swim Club.  At the Short Course Provincial Championships earlier this year, Hyack came within one hundred points of the Bo

This year, mid July, three Canadian swimmers will attempt a 50 kilometre staged open water swim in the Great Bear Sea. Through their journey they will share stories about the rich history of the two communities they swim between and the unique environment that connects them.   The swim expedition will begin on the shores of Ocean Falls, British Columbia and end on the shores of Bella Bella. If all goes well the journey will take 2 days with a stop overnight on Stoney Island.
