PCS Swimmers Competing at World Championships This Week!

Jon McKay and Eric Hedlin will be competing in Korea at the World Championships this week.  Eric will be up first, as he competes in the 5km Open Water event tonight at 4pm PST (10AM July 13 in Korea).  Jon, having won Canada's trials, will compete in the 10km Open Water event, Monday night at 4PM (10AM July 16 in Korea).  Jon's race has extra intrigue as it will also determine the first 10 Male Open Water swimmers to be named to the 2020 Olympic Games!  Good luck Jon, Eric, and coach Ron Jacks!

Age Group Champs Day 3 Chilliwack

Closing out the meet, PCS and Spartans have been bouncing back and forth over 15 points, and between each event, the 4th and 5th positions have changed hands a number of times.

2019 Age Group Championships in Chilliwack - Day 2

PCS continues to stick in the 5th position in overall points. Boys team score sitting in 3rd and our girls are in 7th. Sunday is the last day of the meet and has two sessions with a small break between.

2019 Provincial Age Group Championships - Day 1

PCS Claws it`s way back after Session 1.

At the Age Group Provincial Championships with over 475 competitors, the PCS crew came back in the second session and swam really well. After Session 1, the team was sitting in 17th place, but after Session 2, the team was in 5th and not far behind the top 3 teams.

VIR`s Final Day!

Sunday finals; PCS completed our meet with 29 finals swims for the final session.
Highlights included Kate Marcovitz making her Tier II cut in the 200BK, while also
coming 2 nd in the Girls 12 & Under final swimming a personal best of 2:39.25,
Sydney Boon and Imogen Hawes also both making their Tier II cut in the 100BF
swimming 1:13.78 and 1:14.34 respectively as well as claiming 3 rd and 4 th in the 12 &
Under final. Bridget Rupert swam a nice 1:09.98 to claim 1 st place.

2019 LC Vancouver Island Regionals - Day 1

Friday at VIR’s started off with a bang, PCS placing first with 2177 points, ahead of Island Swimming at 1497.5 and Comox Valley Aquatic Club at 937.5 points.

In the morning, some notable swims where Naeva Scott Bouris dropping 23 seconds off her 200FL to 2:33.88, and Nolan Crisp breaking his own VIR record in the 50BK at 31.07. 10&U swam timed finals for their 50BK and 200IM. Boys 50BK saw Noah Hicks coming in 2nd, while Ethan Woo swam into 2nd on his 200IM.

Hyack Day 1!

Our first day at the annual Hyack meet where over 500 swimmers are competing at the Canada Games pool which is scheduled for replacement with groundbreaking on a new pool for New Westminister starting in 2020. The old pool is still good for some fast swimming in the finals. PCS had 18 final swims. It was mostly the girls night for making top 8 swims.

Comox 10&U Jamboree - Day 1

PCS had a great first day at the Comox Ten and Under Jamboree, with a pile of best times and heat winners.
